The weather somewhat cooperated with the Greenville Bears on Monday. It was a constant drizzle for 20 minutes before the game through the end of the first inning. Ben Becker took the mound for the Bears and rang up a career-high 15 strikeouts against the Lesterville Wildcats.
In the bottom of the first inning, the Bears took a 5-0 lead which was all they needed, they went on to score another in the 2nd and one in the fifth. Lesterville pushed across their solo run of the game in the 6th innning. The game ended with a Bear victory 7-1 pushing their fall record to 19-0.
Becker pitched a complete game and held the Wildcats to 3-hits on 2-errors with 3 walks and 15 Ks. The Bears put up 5 hits and 6 walks. Grant Miller went 2 for 3, while Trey McDaniel, Wyatt Barks and Justin Darnell each had one hit.
